Spiderversary: Spider-Man vs. Dr. Magneto (1967)

Here's another Spider-Man adventure from 1967, with a 1-shot villain named, Dr. Magneto, not to be confused with the more familiar X-Men nemesis (and current ally in the comics), Magneto.

If a real newspaper editor-publisher were to run his paper like Jonah Jameson, he'd be out of business in less than a year!

Rating: B.

I never did understand why JJ was always hating on Spidey! In this show he blamed every little catastrophe on him!

You're definitely right on JJ's questionable publishing tactics; of course back in the 60s people still read newspapers and would have been desperate to read Spidey related news!

I find it funny in this ep that the villian was dressed in a normal suit he probably wore daily and added a cape to it! Not to mention he was such a drama queen!

Jameson had an inferiority complex in re.: Spider-Man. Jameson's son was an astronaut (later became the Man-Wolf in the 70's), and the fame his dear old dad thought would belong to John Jameson went to the web-spinner instead.

Of course, today in the comics, Jameson is now mayor of New York at last check. Whodathunk?
