Saturday Morning's Forgotten Heroes: Space Ghost, Teen Force, & the Herculoids vs. the Olympians (1981)

From Space Stars comes what amounts to a once-in-a-lifetime event. Well, not really.

"The Olympians" reportedly are the descendants of Zeus, Mercury, Hercules, & Medusa, recruited by galactic villain Ugglor to eliminate the Herculoids. Space Ghost  and the Teen Force, Ugglor's primary enemies, also factor into this episode, which was billed as the Space Stars Finale, meaning the last segment of the episode.

Casey Kasem is heard leading viewers back from commercial break, but as with each Space Stars cartoon, actor Keene Curtis (ex-The Magician, later of Cheers) narrates.

Edit: 7/14/14: The video has been deleted due to copyright issues.

Well, you knew the Olympians would soon discover that Ugglor lied to them, didn't you?

Rating: A.

First time I've seen this in English in over 30 years! I did see it online a few months back - but it was in Portugese!

What kills me is that the 1967 Herculoids would NEVER have needed to call for help! I know the toon violence standards was the reason for what we saw on screen, but it still made the Herculoids appear weak.

Just a nitpick, but Medusa wasn't an Olympian - she was a Gorgon!

This toon still makes me want to see a reboot ASAP (perhaps with a rebooted Space Ghost as a companion series)!

I still think the Teen Force can be rebooted too - either as Space Ghost cast members (HB's version of Teen Titans) or perhaps as Earth teens who gain superpowers.

Oh, I knew Medusa was a gorgon. It was the 2nd time in 4 years she'd been used by H-B (Challenge of the Super Friends: Battle of the Gods being the other case), but why the others were lured into Ugglor's plot was never really explained. Ugglor being a bumbler pretty much guaranteed this would ultimately fail, too.
